About the event
Strength Hike: Black Butte
Strength isn't built in a single workout—it's built one step at a time.
Join us for a guided hike up Black Butte as we explore why strength is one of the most powerful predictors of healthy aging, independence, and longevity. Along the way, we'll discuss how muscle supports everything from balance and metabolism to resilience, helping you continue doing the things you love for decades to come.
This is more than a hike. It's an opportunity to challenge yourself, connect with others, and experience what it feels like to build both physical and mental strength in one of Central Oregon's most iconic landscapes.
The full hike begins at the lower Black Butte Trailhead and covers approximately 9.5 miles round trip. If you'd prefer a shorter option, you're welcome to join us partway through for the upper section, which is approximately 4 miles round trip.
